In a one-off opportunity, Corb Lund and his four-piece band are coming to the Arden Theatre on May 1 to tape a CBC television special.

One of Alberta’s favourite country artists, Lund plans to release a new album at the end of August. At the moment, the CD's name is still under wraps.

“But I can tell you it's a great album,” said CBC producer Steve Glassman.

The two-hour concert, dubbed Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans, will air at a time corresponding to the album's release.

“It'll be a very special night and a very exciting opportunity see the group,” Glassman said. “Corb has played at Rexall and the Jube. You rarely see him in an intimate setting. I fully expect the tickets to be gone quickly.”

Tickets are priced at $20 plus facility fee. Call the Arden box office at 780-459-1542 or at Blackbyrd Myoozik or Permanent Records on Whyte Ave.
