Art Gallery of St. Albert

Matrilineal Threads is a “multidimensional exhibition” that combines the artistic labours of emerging artist Kasie Campbell and her late mother Ginette Lund. Opening reception will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1 to coincide with Artwalk. The artist will be in attendance. An artist talk will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 and an exhibition tour will take place starting at 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22. Exhibition runs until Aug. 31.

Florence Debeugny presents loco/Belcarra Cottages/Port Moody. Until Thursday, Aug. 8.

Aboud Salman is the staircase feature artist with his work People Between the Rivers. Until Saturday, Sept. 7.

Visual Arts Studio Association

Untouched is the new exhibit by Doris Charest. Opening reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1 in conjunction with ArtWalk. Artist will be in attendance. Exhibition runs until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Linda Corbett has a show of work in the Corridor Gallery. Until September.

Musée Héritage Museum

The museum hosts an exhibit of art from a different artist every month in conjunction with the summer ArtWalk season. Until Saturday, Aug. 31.

St. Albert Public Library

In continuing its support of ArtWalk, the library will be featuring new works of art by a different artist every month. August will feature Re-Imagining Normal, which combines archival material from The Queer History Project with artworks created by LGBTQ+ and LGBTQ-allied artists. This exhibition was organized by the Art Gallery of Alberta for the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Travelling Exhibition Program. Until Saturday, Aug. 31.

The library also has a display case featuring Books, Boxes & Blocks created by artists from the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild. These 'books in containers' will be a curated selection from the C:100 Blocks exhibit, which contained 100 cubes covered in different handmade papers, prints, marbled papers, and more. Until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Bookstore on Perron

St. Albert Painters Guild members Marlon Britton, Suzan Berwald, Andrew Raczynski, and Tony Overweel will have works on display in Gallery 7 in the back of the bookstore in conjunction with the August ArtWalk from 6 p.m. to 8:30 on Thursday, Aug. 1. Artists will be in attendance. Exhibition runs until Saturday, Aug. 31.

The Collective

The August Open Mic is taking place on Thursday, Aug. 1 in conjunction with ArtWalk. Doors open at 7 p.m. followed by a feature performance from Mya Hill at 7:30 p.m. The open mic will follow after at 8 p.m. and is open to all local youth musicians and poets. Treats, beverages, and Amplify Books will be available for donation and purchase.

Arden Theatre

The youth gallery features works by Elsa Zahar winner Mary Babichuk for the second year in a row. Until Aug. 31.

St. Albert Seniors Association

The St. Albert Photography Club has a rotating selection of artistic photographs on display in the foyer area of Red Willow Place.

Musée Morinville Museum

The Morinville Art Club has a rotating selection of art on display. A new exhibit of work by Alexandra Ramos was recently installed. Until Saturday, Aug. 31.

Art Gallery of Alberta

Processor: Digital and Analogue Retranslations is a new group exhibit featuring Brad Necyk and Daniel Evans, along with Jackson 2bears, Laura Anzola, Elisabeth Belliveau, Skawennati, Caitlin Thompson, Matthew Waddell, and Craig Fahner. Until Sunday, Oct. 20.

YEG Canvas

The new rotation of artworks is now on display for the Edmonton Arts Council’s third-annual public art project. Look for new works on various billboard and LRT poster locations throughout the capital city.

ArtWalk returns to the Perron District from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. Outdoor artists, art exhibits, activities and live demonstrations, and other happenings in venues including WARES, St. Albert Public Library, Musée Héritage Museum, Art Gallery of St. Albert (and its Rental and Sales Gallery), the Bookstore On Perron, VASA Gallery, Confections Cake Co., The Collective, and La Crema Caffé.
