Those who seek entertainment on the stage will have to wait a bit longer.
On Tuesday morning, the Arden Theatre announced a series of postponements to its upcoming Professional Series. The announcement began by noting the "rapid increase of COVID-19 in our province" as the cause for the shift.
"The City of St. Albert continues to assess the evolving situation and is working with performers to determine any potential changes to show dates over the coming weeks," it stated.
While Gordie Tentrees Trio, Brent Butt, and Ben Sures had already postponed their shows, the following performances have now also been postponed:
- Diyet & The Love Soldiers: originally scheduled for Jan. 26. A new date has not yet been set. All tickets will be automatically refunded.
- Celeigh Cardinal: originally scheduled for Jan. 29, this show has been rescheduled to Friday, April 1. All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new performance date. If current ticketholders are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, a refund will be issued.
- Kat Danser & The Tall Tales: originally scheduled for Feb. 4, this show has been pushed to the summer with a new date of Friday, June 24. All previously purchased tickets will be honoured for the new performance date. If current ticketholders are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, a refund will be issued.
The notice also indicated that the Arden will continue to assess the evolving situation regarding other upcoming performances and will announce any further changes as they are confirmed.

The theatre thanked the public for its patience and co-operation as it navigates through the ongoing pandemic. It encouraged those who wish to learn more about the province's new public-health measures to visit the Government of Alberta’s COVID-19 Public Health Actions webpage.
