City of St. Albert launches senior service awards

Seniors and Elders Service Award Program is currently accepting nominations

Seniors and Elders have always been one of St. Albert’s strongest forces through their kindness, generosity, dedication and unwavering commitment to the community. And it goes without saying that their wisdom and perspective on life is a bonus to the true spirit of service.

The City of St. Albert wishes to recognize their invaluable contributions and has introduced the new Seniors and Elders Service Award Program. Nominations are requested from the public until March 1. In the spring, a Seniors Advisory Committee will recommend successful applicants. At the beginning of June during Seniors’ Week, council will recognize the recipients by name and offer a token of appreciation.

Nominees must meet certain criteria. They must live in St. Albert or have made a significant difference in the city in the last five years.

Nominee recommendations must be based on extraordinary service or as a contribution to the city as a senior or for the benefit of seniors. This means going above and beyond through significant dedication of time and talents.

Nominees must be 55 years or older or have served seniors/elders in St. Albert.

Anyone who knows a senior/elder who has made a big difference in the community is asked to nominate them. Nominations are now being accepted in person at St. Albert Place or online. To learn more about the program visit stalbert.ca/seniorsawards or call 780-459-1756
