Spark Employment Services is turning up the energy this August with Spark Up Your Summer!, a free outdoor employment and community celebration happening on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the parking lot of 435 Notre Dame Avenue, Sudbury.
Now in its second year, this lively event brings together job seekers, employers, community organizations, and families for a day of connections, opportunities, and fun.
"Spark Up Your Summer is our unique way of blending business with seasonal fun. It’s a creative initiative designed to bring job seekers, community partners, and employers together—making it easier than ever to connect, collaborate, and grow." said Chantal Makela, CEO of Spark Employment Services.
This year’s event features:
· 20+ Employers and Community Service Providers
· Hands-on Employment Readiness Workshops
· Games, Prizes, and Raffles
· Local Food Trucks
· Live DJ & Entertainment
· Virtual Reality Career Exploration Station
· A Dunk Tank with community leaders and special guests
· FREE interview clothing provided by Sudbury Women’s Centre
Workshop Schedule:
· 10:00 AM – Who You Are Matters: Discover your strengths and what drives you
· 11:00 AM – Value Proposition: Learn how to communicate your unique value to employers
· 12:00 PM – Virtual Reality Career Exploration: Try cutting-edge tools to explore different career paths
· 1:00 PM – Résumé + Cover Letter Help: Get expert tips to make your job application stand out
· 2:00 PM – Interview Preparation: Build confidence and learn how to make a great impression
The dunk tank adds a playful twist, with local celebrities like

o Claude Sharma – Community Champion & United Way Board Member
and other special guests getting soaked for a great cause: to support Spark’s FREE services that help thousands in the community each year.
