Strong social networks—connections with extended family, friends, and neighbors—are essential for shielding children from the impacts of adversity. However, many families in Guelph and Wellington County face challenges like poverty, trauma, and violence, and they may not have the support systems they need to cope. That’s where Village Finding comes in.
Village Finding links families who need a village with caring volunteers who can provide practical assistance and support. Whether it’s helping with everyday tasks or simply offering a trusted presence, volunteers play a key role in reducing stress for caregivers and creating a more stable, nurturing environment for children.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering with Village Finding is a unique opportunity to:
Give back to your community and make a tangible difference in a child’s life.
Support a family by providing small, meaningful acts of kindness and reducing stress in a caregiver’s life.
Gain valuable experience in child support, trauma-informed care, and community engagement.
Connect with other like-minded volunteers and be part of a compassionate network.
Help prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) by ensuring children grow up with strong, caring connections.
Develop your personal and professional growth, including working with children and families.
