Search turns up five stolen vehicles at property north of Bonnyville

RCMP recovered trucks and a unique three-wheeled Tri Pod after executing two search warrants. Multiple RCMP units involved in investigation, search and seizure.

LA COREY – After receiving a report of stolen property located on a property in La Corey, Bonnyville RCMP and the Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit (LCRU) began an investigation on Jan. 5.  

As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was granted and executed on the same date. 

“During the recovery of the vehicle involved in the investigation, officers observed evidence of additional stolen items (vehicles),” wrote S/Sgt. Sarah Parke in a statement. 

As a result, a second search warrant was granted and was executed on Jan. 7, around 10:30 a.m.  

The second search of the La Corey property was carried out with the assistance of Bonnyville RCMP’s General Investigative Section, Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, St. Paul Police Dog Service and the K Division North Auto-Theft Unit.

“Upon execution of this search warrant, the suspect was located and was subsequently arrested and taken into custody,” reported Parke.  

Searches of the property resulted in the recovery of five stolen vehicles and an assortment of additional stolen property. 

Alfred Douglas Tizzard, 43, of La Corey faces criminal code charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 (x5), mischief over $5,000, and unlawful tampering with a vehicle identification number (x2). 

Tizzard was held for a bail hearing where he was remanded into custody by a Justice of the Peace. Tizzard is next scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on Feb. 15.
