Northern Alberta RCMP detachment shot at

On Feb. 2, police responded to multiple firearms incidents in Saddle Lake. The RCMP detachment building was also shot at the same day.

SADDLE LAKE - On Wednesday, the Saddle Lake RCMP detachment was shot at, resulting in damage to the building.

Saddle Lake and St. Paul RCMP members responded to multiple firearms incidents in Saddle Lake Cree Nation on Feb. 2, and while out responding to one of the incidents, their own building was targeted. 

"The building was not occupied at the time. There were no injuries to civilians or RCMP officers," according to police.

Saddle Lake and St. Paul RCMP, with help from RCMP Forensic Investigative Services, continue to investigate and are looking to the public to help identify those responsible for discharging a firearm at residences and at the detachment in Saddle Lake.
