Passenger succumbs to injuries in motorcycle-deer collision near Cochrane

Women involved in motorcycle collision with deer in Southern Alberta succumbed to her injuries.

COCHRANE, Alta. — A 56-year-old female passenger that was involved in a collision between a motorcycle and a deer just outside of Cochrane earlier this afternoon (July 19) has succumbed to her injuries, according to Cochrane RCMP.

The collision sent both the 67-year-old male driver and his passenger to hospital in critical condition. 

According to RCMP, the Cochrane detachment, along with fire and emergency services were called to the incident at 1:13 p.m. It occurred on Highway 22, north of Fireside Gate. 

Traffic was no longer being re-routed as of 3:40 p.m. 

"Cochrane RCMP send their sincerest condolences to the families and loved ones affected by this tragedy," reads the updated press release.
