Motorcyclist dies in collision with SUV on Highway 1A

The driver of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old female from Fort Saskatchewan, was declared deceased at the scene.

A two-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a motorcyclist near Morley on Aug. 19. 

According to a Cochrane RCMP press release, Mounties responded to the call alongside fire and emergency services personnel around 7:30 p.m. on Highway 1A near Morley Road. 

The release states the collision involved an SUV and a motorcycle.

"Investigation reveals that the SUV was travelling west on Highway 1A when it crossed the yellow centre line and collided head-on with the motorcycle," it reads.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old female from Fort Saskatchewan, was declared deceased at the scene.

"The investigation into this collision continues. Our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased," the release states.

An update will be provided when further information is available, according to RCMP.
