Licence plate theft

In 2017 at least 17 St. Albert residents have reported that their vehicle licence plates have been stolen from their parked vehicles.

RCMP say residents may have been faced with proving that their vehicle is not responsible after receiving photo radar tickets. Other vehicle owners have had their licence plates put on a vehicle that was used in a crime and they have to prove they were not involved in the crime.

St. Albert Neighbourhood Watch offers a free method for securing your licence plate to your vehicle that can prevent your plate from being stolen.
