With turbulent spring temperatures over the past couple weeks, St. Albert RCMP are warning residents about the dangers of walking on thin ice.
RCMP have received two reports recently of people walking on dangerously thin ice. One of the reports involved three children playing on ice.
“Ice on any ponds, creeks or the Sturgeon River at this time of year is not safe. With the wide range of temperatures that we have experienced lately, ice is thinning and can easily break through,” said RCMP in a news release.
RCMP are reminding parents to warn their children to stay off the ice.
