The RCMP are investigating after a man’s body was found in a farmer’s field in eastern Sturgeon County on Monday night.

Police have not yet released the exact location. The investigation is in the preliminary stages.

As of press time the body had not been identified and an autopsy was scheduled in Edmonton on Tuesday.

The RCMP said that the body was found by a farmer working his field.

An update will be provided when more information becomes available.

This is the second body found in the county in less than two weeks.

On the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 17 a man’s body was found in the ditch in Sturgeon County.

That man has been identified as 27-year-old Kevin Dean Damien Yellowbird of Edmonton. Yellowbird has ties to the community of Ma-Me-O Beach.

Ring found

A ladies diamond ring was turned in to RCMP.

On Aug. 15 2017 a ring was turned in to the RCMP after it was found in the Superstore on St. Albert Trail. The RCMP said they don’t know when the ring was found and that it could have been sitting in the lost and found at the store for a couple of months before it was turned over to the RCMP.
