One man suffered injuries after a home invasion

One man was taken to the hospital with injuries to his face after a home invasion.

On  Thursday at around 8:20 p.m. the St. Albert RCMP responded to a home invasion on Arlington Drive.

Five to six men entered a home and assaulted the lone male occupant. The suspects then took the man and drove him to a nearby store where they dropped him off. The culprits fled in an unknown vehicle.

No description of the suspects was provided to the RCMP.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries to his face and has been released.

St. Albert RCMP continue to investigate but believe all parties involved are known to each other and this was an isolated incident.  They do not believe there are any public safety concerns at this time.

Shots fired

One man is injured after an incident where shots were fired in a residential area in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The St. Albert RCMP responded to witness reports of shots being fired in the neighbourhood of Sturgeon Heights just after 3:30 a.m.

RCMP arrived at the scene and determined that a possible victim had fled on foot. The police searched the area and located an injured 24-year-old man who is a resident of St. Albert, a short distance away from the scene inside a home.

The man did not require hospitalization and the RCMP would not say if the man was shot.

The investigation is still in its early stages but police believe that it was an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.
