Business Beat: Christmas markets, a new fun centre and new stores at St. Albert Centre

The more the merrier

With only 54 days left until Christmas, a few markets are making sure there are enough gifts to go around.

Red Willow Place will host a Christmas market on Saturday Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The market will feature over 50 local artisans, a gourmet hot chocolate bar, gingerbread decorating for the kids and a photo-op with Santa and Mrs. Claus from noon until 2 p.m.

A gingerbread-themed lunch will also run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The St. Albert Farmers’ Market is hosting an indoor Christmas market on four Saturdays from Nov. 25 to Dec. 16.

The indoor market will be held inside St. Albert Place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., featuring 80 vendors from across Alberta and B.C. Each weekend there will be free hot chocolate and a scavenger hunt.

The market is holding an ugly Christmas sweater competition on Dec. 16, where attendees will be encouraged to wear their tackiest sweaters and take a photo wearing them at the market.
