Christmas is coming to St. Albert Centre

Chestnuts are slowly roasting around town, vast quantities of eggnog are being brewed in local homes and St. Albert Centre is preparing to host St. Nicholas starting the last day of November.

“We will have Christmas carolers on Nov. 30 for Santa’s arrival and then again on Dec. 7, 14, and 21 featuring local talent,” said Jillian Creech, general manager.

Santa Claus himself will arrive Saturday, Nov. 30 at noon and will be at the mall every day leading up to Christmas Eve.

Creech said the mall has several special events and projects coming up during the Christmas season.

Creech said the centre’s Shop Close to Home for the Holidays is coming up, which offers mall customers the opportunity to enter to win a different prize for 12 days leading up to Christmas. The program runs from Dec. 11 to 22, with the grand prize being a trip to the mountains valued at $3,000. Guests can enter at customer service and the winners will be announced on Facebook and at customer service.

Facebook fanatics will have an extra reason to get involved, noted Creech.

“Tag St. Albert Centre in your photo on Facebook, and you’ll be entered to win a $100 gift card,” she noted.

Also, each Saturday in December, the first 50 shoppers to purchase a $100 St. Albert Centre gift card will receive a $25 St. Albert Centre gift card free.

The mall is also accepting donations for the St. Albert Kinette’s Christmas hamper program.
