Q: What was your primary motivation to seek elected office?
Public service is a privilege.
I’ve lived in Sturgeon County all my life and I love working to improve the quality of life for our residents.  As mayor we’ve made improvements in everything we do but I’m just getting started.
I’m running to ensure the services we deliver continue to reflect the priorities of our residents and are delivered effectively and efficiently.
I have a plan to attract new large industry, to expand and grow our agriculture sector, to support existing and new business, and to encourage community development initiatives. I’m excited about the opportunities ahead.  And I’m Sturgeon proud.

Q: What skills and experiences have prepared you for this office?
Volunteer experience includes: Sturgeon County Development Appeal & Assessment Review Boards & Sturgeon Valley Area Structure Plan Committee, Knights of Columbus, founding director St. Albert Community Foundation, Lions Club.
I served four years as a councillor then four as mayor.  I’m currently chairman for the Land-Use Committee – Capital Region Board.
I’ve farmed in the Sturgeon Valley and owned Truck, Farm Machinery & Polaris Dealerships, & Flynn Bros Construction.
I’ve a Bachelor of Science degree, and municipal governance training.

Q: What do you think are the most important issues to the community at large?
Experienced, ethical and effective leadership.

Maintaining and rebuilding our road and drainage networks.

Q: What specific goals will you work to achieve if elected?
Providing effective and ethical leadership.
Accelerating our sustainable road improvement strategy.
Facilitating construction of the multi-billion dollar Pembina plastics plant.
Working with Northwest Refinery to ensure phase 2 approvals.
Agriculture and agri-business long term master planning.
Finding a funding formula for a Morinville joint use recreation centre.
Increasing our public consultation and engagement to ensure efficient and effective service from staff/council based on resident priorities.
Promoting business growth at Villeneuve Airport, Sturgeon Industrial Park/Heartland areas.
Reviewing and updating our business, strategic and fiscal plans annually to ensure sound fiscal management.
Keeping our taxes at the lowest rate in the region.
