Mastermind Toys, Canada’s largest specialty toy and children’s books retailer, will be opening along St. Albert Trail in early March.
The 4,748 square-foot store has four other locations in the Edmonton area.
Beth Merrick, spokesperson for the company, said they were excited to open in St. Albert.
“Mastermind Toys has been actively pursuing opening a store in St. Albert since the company first decided to expand to the Edmonton area in 2014,” she wrote in an email. “We know that St. Albert is a thriving and growing family-oriented community, with a strong interest in quality toys and books.”
She said the company was waiting for the right location for the toy store.
Once open, store hours will be: Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Macarons & Goodies opened up in downtown St. Albert on Feb. 3. The bakery offers French and Canadian gourmet food, as well as macaroons, croissants, éclairs, chocolates, confectionery and sandwiches.
All products are made in-house every day.
The store is open from Monday to Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at 50 St. Thomas Street.

BounciN BLitz Fitness Studio has jumped to a new location. The trampoline-based fitness centre offers different jumping classes to get into shape and shed some weight.
The fitness centre can now be found at #180, 310 Carleton Drive, on the second floor above Health by Hamdon.
For those who are worried about getting active, Naomi Crozier, owner of the facility, says anyone can join. People can also book events, birthdays and groups.
