FOX LAKE, Alta. — Police say the bodies of four people have been found in a residence after a weekend house fire in Fox Lake, Alta.

RCMP say they received a report of a house fire early Saturday morning and arrived to find the residence destroyed, noting it had likely been burning for some time.

Investigators say two children who were initially believed to be in the residence during the fire were reported as being treated at the Fox Lake nursing station for non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP say they located four deceased people in the remains of the home on Sunday.

The bodies have been transported to the medical examiner for identification and to determine cause of death.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, but the fire does not appear suspicious.
