A St. Albert volunteer and proud Métis Canadian hopes to bring her experience in the non-profit sector to the St. Albert Public board.
Sheyanne Levall-Crouse filed to run in the 2021 St. Albert Public trustee election Sept. 17.
A proud Métis St. Albert resident and daughter-in-law to former city mayor Nolan Crouse, Levall-Crouse said she decided to run for trustee because her daughter was about to start school.
“I want to be able to help families feel confident in the education their children will be receiving while in public school,” she said.
“I want to be an advocate for not only the students but a voice for parents.”
Levall-Crouse said she will bring about 10 years of experience working for non-profits such as STARS Air Ambulance to the board. She also has a long history of volunteerism, which includes work for the Singing Christmas Tree and Canadian Blood Services.
If elected, Levall-Crouse said she will focus on improved mental-health supports for staff and students, as well as the district’s efforts at reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
