The Bellerose Bulldogs, Paul Kane Blues and Sturgeon Spirits ruck and maul today in metro Edmonton division two pool A men’s rugby.

The Bulldogs (2-0) battle Sturgeon (1-0) and Paul Kane (1-2) lines up against the Salisbury Sabres (0-1).

Kickoff times are 4:45 p.m. at the St. Albert Rugby Football Club.

Last year the Bulldogs and Sturgeon, the division two finalist, settled for a 31-all draw in league play.

Monday the Bulldogs defeated the Bev Facey Falcons (1-2) by a score of 32-19 at SARFC.

The next Norwest Midget AAA Baseball League game for the St. Albert Cardinals is against the 2016 provincial Tier I champions tonight at Legion Memorial Park.

First pitch is 6:30 p.m. against SEEBA 1.

The Cardinals were off to a flying 5-0 start before Tuesday’s contest against the Parkland Twins in Spruce Grove. The score was unavailable at press time.

Last weekend the Cardinals defeated Calgary Dinos Yellows 11-4, 17-3 and 14-0 at Foothills Stadium.

Tonight’s home game for the St. Albert Midget A Zone Rams starts at 8:30 p.m. against the Edmonton Warriors at Kinex Arena.

The Rams (3-2-1) and Warriors (1-2) are first and fourth, respectively, in the five-team Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council.

Monday the Rams pulled off a 7-4 win over the Titans (0-3) in Sherwood Park.

Mathieu Gautier pumped in five goals and Bryce Schmermund and Ronin Pusch also scored.

The Crude Lacrosse Club of St. Albert hosts a weekend junior B Tier I series at Akinsdale Arena.

Game times are 9 p.m. Friday against the Manitoba Blizzard (2-1) of Winnipeg and 3 p.m. Sunday against the Calgary Chill (1-1) in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League.

Tuesday the Crude (0-2) played the Rebels (1-2) in Fort Saskatchewan but the score was unavailable at press time.

Junior high 7s flag rugby will be showcased Saturday at the St. Albert Rugby Football Club.

The tournament runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and features eight male and eight female teams from the Greater Edmonton Junior High 7s League.

The Lorne Akins Gators, Sir George Simpson Voyageurs and William D. Cuts Crusaders are representing the St. Albert Physical Education Council.

The Gators are the defending Tier I male and female league champions.
