Running for: Sturgeon County Council
Years resident in community: 71 years
Family status: Married, 4 children, 8 grandchildren
Education: N.A.I.T heavy duty and auto mechanics
Current Occupation: Farmer and mechanic
Q: What was your primary motivation to seek elected office?
Many residents called to make sure I am still running due to the perceptions and distorted information given out by some groups. I don’t want to drop the ball after what has been accomplished over the past years and would like to be around to make sure the benefits are used wisely. I have a few unfinished projects in my hamlets of Riviere Qui Barre and Alcomdale that I would like to complete. Also, I am easing out of farming and have the time to dedicate to the very busy job of councillor.
Q: What skills and experiences have prepared you for this office
I have 22 years of council experience. I understand the trials and dilemmas of the farming community. I am familiar with the issues and challenges of Sturgeon County. I have always been considered a team worker.
Q: What do you think are the most important issues to the community at large?
Looking after the industrial growth and revenue. Using the growth in tax base wisely, improving our infrastructure that includes a planned $80 million to be spent on roads in the next three years. Helping our communities and hamlets.
Q: What specific goals will you work to achieve if elected?
Collaboration with our towns and neighbouring cities. Fiscal responsibility. More pavement.
