On Friday May 23 our class was walking over to the Shell station on Fairview Boulevard for celebratory slush drinks. We had been training all year for the 5K RunWild and our teacher was rewarding us for a job well done.

As we were in line to get our slushes, a man named Bert asked us where we were from. Our teacher told him. That's when it happened.

Bert announced, "Slurpees on me!"

We couldn't believe it. Bert was very kind to us and we wanted to be able to thank him ... but all we know about him is that his name is Bert.

So from all of the Gazelles in 2G at Sir Alexander Mackenzie School: Thank you Bert. We are paying forward. Kindness is catching.
