The deadline to register online for the 29th annual St. Albert 10-Mile Road Race and third annual six-kilometre fun run is Thursday at www.zone4.ca.
As of Monday 299 runners had registered for the 10-miler and nine for the fun run.
Sunday’s 10-miler starts at 9:30 a.m. on Grandin Road across from Grandin Park Plaza and the fun run goes 10 minutes after the main race or once all the 10-milers have left the starting gate.
The 10-mile registration record of 976 was set in 1998.
Last year 385 runners finished the 10-miler and 23 completed the fun run.
Jason Jama of Edmonton was the 10-mile winner in 54 minutes and two seconds and the fastest female was Alexandra Gordichuk of Edmonton at 1:02:47 for 25th place overall.
Marc Meunier was the top St. Albert finisher at 58:05 for eighth place overall.
Eleven runners completed the 10-miler in less than one hour.
The 10-miler, hosted by the St. Albert Road Runners and Triathlon Club, is a fixture in the Timex Alberta Road Race Series and was a top-10 finalist for Alberta’s best road race in 2013.

All three rinks are perennial President’s Cup playoff champions at the St. Albert Curling Club.
Four qualifiers in the 12-team men’s, mixed and women’s double-knockout format advance to Tuesday’s semifinals at 7 p.m.
The finals are Wednesday at 7 p.m.
