It appears that St. Albert is planning to introduce angle parking along Perron Street thereby reducing traffic lanes by 50 per cent.

Have those responsible considered the congestion on Perron during the closures of St. Anne during the International Children's Festival and the summer farmersí market?

Recent history shows that with the rerouting of traffic for both of the above, the four existing traffic lanes are usually fairly well tied up and become even more of a problem for emergency vehicles that routinely use Perron Street.

Maybe those responsible should visit Perron Street when St. Anne has been closed for important functions.

Hopefully sober second thoughts will prevail and this "brain wave" will fade away.
