In late February, a group of students from W.D. Cuts Junior High School in St. Albert headed for the snow-capped mountains of Lake Louise, Canmore and Banff for three days of fun with friends, personal challenges and self-discovery.
For many of the Grade 7 to 9 students, climbing frozen waterfalls, mushing through deep snow and still forests, or experiencing the joys of racing down the ski slopes, were a foreign concept.
However, each student met those challenges and persevered in his or her own way and created memories to last a lifetime.
