Bike park belongs in Riel

We live about a block from Gloucester Park and feel the notion of a mountain bike skills park located in this beautiful natural area is completely out of touch with any kind of sensibility.
The area is already well used by the taxpayers of the neighbourhood. Walking their dogs, walking by oneself or with a loved one, seeing natureís other creatures who have a home there, and parents with young children at the playground already in place there.
All of these are wonderful sights that unfortunately would disappear.
Other concerns? Numerous cars will be parked in the small area on the Gloucester side of the park, danger for neighbourhood children due to traffic increases, possible vandalism increases (difficult area for sight lines for police to monitor), and noise to name but a few (try living backed onto the Henday, the volume would surprise you).
To wrap up, I would suggest the majority of the neighbourhood has nothing against the idea of a mountain bike skills park but c'mon city representatives, let's do the right thing, just as you did at Liberton. Please take it a step further. Remove any residential sites from the "list" and place the park in Riel. Doesn't this make sense?
