I have been observing the efforts of Coun. Sheena Hughes during the city's budget debates.

I would like to commend her efforts in trying to get St. Albert away from having the dubious distinction of being one of the highest taxed municipalities in Alberta.

We need more on council and the city's administration that think like you. I find you speak for those in our fair city, that for too long have had no voice.

I'm referring to seniors on fixed income, young families trying to make ends meet, single parents, the under-employed, the handicapped, and those temporarily down on their luck due to health problems or unemployment.

This is why people like myself vote for fiscal conservatives such as yourself. We are our brotherís keeper and at this time of year it hits home more than usual; for most of us. Thanks Sheena and happy holidays.

Gilles Tanguay, St. Albert
