The demons and eldritch horrors that stalked St. Albert this week in search of treats were a well-behaved bunch, making for a quiet Halloween, says the St. Albert RCMP.
St. Albert RCMP Cpl. Laurel Kading said Friday that the detachment had received zero reports of Halloween-related crimes on Oct. 31. There were a few reports of traffic offences, but nothing related to the holiday.
“We seem to have had quite a quiet Halloween,” she said.
This has been the case for the last several years.
“It’s something to be proud of that we’re not plagued with issues here,” she said.
Egging and toilet-papering property is considered mischief under the law and should be reported if it happens, Kading said. Even if police can’t find who did it, the information will still help the detachment do crime analyses and plan patrols.
Kading reminded parents to inspect their children’s candy and to throw out anything with tampered packaging or that could cause allergic reactions.
