First off, let me congratulate Mayor Crouse on his victory this last election.
As a resident of Erin Ridge he was not my choice. In fact I had signs placed on my fence acknowledging Shelley Biermanski as my preference. This was my first election where I got actively involved because of issues that affected my area and we were not being heard by the mayor and the majority of council.
I have to say that it was an eye opener for the tactics used during this election. But what I will take most from this election is the class that Shelley showed during this period. She was verbally assaulted by candidates and their supporters, suffered the loss of a family member, had a full time job and ran her campaign without the cash that others had.
The election results while close must have been difficult for her, yet she showed up at my house less than 24 hours later to see if she could help take down her signs.
We can all take a lesson here on class. Your family should be very proud of you.
