RCMP seek collision witnessesPolice asking witnesses of fatal collision to come forwardBy: By Megan Sarrazin | Posted: Friday, Mar 01, 2013 06:15 pm Police are asking witnesses of a fatal collision last Saturday to come forward and provide a statement. The collision occurred at roughly 8:20 p.m. Feb. 23 at the intersection of St. Albert Trail and Hebert Road. St. Albert RCMP report that a northbound car collided with an SUV making a left turn onto Hebert Road. The impact forced the car to wrap around a lamppost, killing the male passenger. RCMP did not release the name of the victim, but a handwritten note on a roadside memorial as well as a public Facebook group identified him as 20-year-old Mike Mclean. The 26-year-old driver of the car was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. No injuries were reported by occupants in the SUV. RCMP continue to investigate the collision and have not ruled out speed or alcohol as factors. Anyone who witnessed the collision is being asked to contact St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700. Comments
