I had the great pleasure of attending the grand opening of the Morinville Public Elementary School on Feb. 6. The passion and emotion in the building were evident in anticipation of the ceremonies that were about to take place.

Morinville council and administration welcome the public elementary school of the Sturgeon School Division and look forward to the opportunities that this creates for the children and families in Morinville. As Morinville continues to grow there will be more reasons to choose Morinville as a place to “live, work and play” and choice in education is one of those reasons.

I wish the staff, students and parents all the best as the Morinville Public Elementary School grows and continues to be an integral part of the fabric of our diverse community.

“The foundation of every state is the education of its youth.” – Diogenes Laertius

Paul Krauskopf, Mayor of Morinville
