A former Spruce Grove teacher and St. Albert hockey coach will learn his fate March 14 for making a sexual advance on a 16-year-old hockey player.

Robert John Paolinelli offered to perform oral sex on the minor and offered to allow the boy to have intercourse with him. The boy was billeting with Paolinelli at the time of the incident on Oct. 4, 2011.

He pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation, a charge laid against individuals in a position of trust who violate that trust, in December 2011. His sentence was expected on two previous occasions, but proceedings were delayed for unknown reasons.

Sentencing is set for March 14 in Stony Plain Provincial Court.
