Shame on the City of St. AlbertBy: | Posted: Wednesday, Jan 23, 2013 06:00 am This past weekend while most roads were in good driving condition, Giroux Road was in terrible condition, as it usually is. You could see several places where vehicles had spun out and hit the snow bank. Now the initial thought would be that people are driving too fast. That may be true for some but not for all. I myself almost lost control going about 35 km/h. One vehicle even took down a tree. I was told by a friend who drove by it that emergency vehicles responded to that incident. So one would think that perhaps that would prompt the city to get out and do something about the road conditions on Giroux, but of course they didn't. So a while later that day my daughter also spun out and hit the snow bank, damaging her car. Thankfully she was OK and a Good Samaritan graciously helped her out. A big thank you to that individual. Why I am writing about this you ask? Because I feel that it was the city's negligence that caused this to happen. We pay extremely high taxes, yet we have to drive on treacherous roads because the city doesn't take care of them. Shame on you, City of St. Albert. Melody Lussier, St. Albert Comments
