Dog doo unto othersBy: | Posted: Saturday, Oct 27, 2012 06:00 am Off track, as usual. A survey was issued for opinions on licensing cats. I've only seen one mention of cats since. "Cats will NOT be licensed." Now I see a fury of reasons for and against dogs on- or off-leash. The few stories of attacks are made to sound like many. Many stories had no mention of injuries from "attacks" which were just scares and fears from a dog rushing towards people out of playful ambition. As one writer pointed out, many dogs are actually more aggressive while on a leash than off. This is true. To the Hogans, I have seen many off-leash dog owners watch carefully and clean up after their dog. I have also cleaned up after others; it's not a big deal. To Mr. Brenholm, tails don't wag if harm is the intention. If children are allowed to run out of yards without closing gates or being educated to do so perhaps they should be on a leash. To Joe Q.: I've been knocked over by a playful dog but it wasn't on purpose, it happens, that's life. I bet 98 per cent of on-leash supporters are also cellphone drivers ... a far bigger danger than any dog! Now let’s get back to the cats! Randy Marta, St. Albert Comments
