St. Albert RCMP are investigating an early morning break and enter at a downtown pharmacy.

Unknown suspects entered the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy on St. Michael Street, just off Perron Street, at roughly 7 a.m. Monday morning, said Const. Travis Matlock.

No one was in the building at the time. Police were tipped to the burglary by an alarm in the pharmacy.

Matlock said he couldn't comment on suspects or stolen merchandise as the investigation is ongoing.

It is not yet known if the pharmacy has video surveillance.

The adjoining St. Albert Medical Clinic was delayed opening Monday, as police continued their investigation. The clinic resumed operations at roughly 9:30 a.m.
