Transit service is missing in actionBy: | Posted: Saturday, Sep 29, 2012 06:00 am What happened to our transit? Ever since the fall/winter bus schedules have come into effect it has caused me nothing but confusion and frustration. I have been riding St. Albert Transit buses for the entirety of my short life and they have always met my transportation needs quite well. This year, however, what used to be as simple as a 15-minute bus ride to Walmart is an hour-long commute. Many of the buses that go to the other side of the city from me are gone by the time I get to the station, meaning that I have to wait at least half an hour for the next one to arrive. This issue will only worsen as the weather gets colder. My understanding is that St. Albert Transit would want to increase the number of riders instead of discouraging them from taking the bus in the first place. I have been a loyal transit patron for 16 years but if the schedules continue in this pattern, I'll be saving up for a car instead of university. Jennifer Quadling, St. Albert Comments
