RE: Dee-Ann Schwanke's article on new shrubs.

Great article – I totally agree with you. I can't believe this city's disregard for public safety.

They love their photo radars under the guise of traffic safety but ignore the obvious and often create unsafe situations themselves.

I just got home Sunday night driving in from Ray Gibbon towards McKenney Avenue where I turn left on Laydon and realized that my vision was greatly impaired by the shrubs they put in a couple of years ago after chopping down the beautiful trees.

Those trees did not prevent me from looking ahead to see the traffic going west (often very fast) and if it was safe to turn left. Now we are at great risk because of very limited visibility.

They (city) refuse to install lights at this intersection, which is also a dangerous crosswalk and as you have stated someone is going to get killed in those areas. The new shrubs add absolutely nothing to the landscape compared to the trees that once adorned the boulevard.

I will join up with any group that is willing to take on city hall on this issue.

Thank you for speaking up on our behalf.
