Peter Lougheed will always be remembered for the leadership he exhibited in establishing the cornerstones of modern day Alberta.

His lists of accomplishments are legion. However, I remember him in two special ways.

First, as being the premier of the province that established St. Albert as a city in 1977.

Second, as leading his cabinet team in a softball game at a ball park one fine summer evening surrounded by a crowd of St. Albert and district residents and well wishers.

Peter Lougheed understood the need of a cabinet and a caucus to keep in close personal touch with the Alberta electorate.
