Train whistles are a real annoyance

In reply to the letter ‘Train whistles not worth whining about,’ and ‘Train whistles aren't going anywhere,’ Sept 12. Gazette:
For Megan Tkachyk’s and Rodney Wood’s information, I counted the train whistles 18 times in one night, which should infringe on St. Albert’s noise bylaw. Train operators are required to blow their horns, but doing it more than necessary is annoying.
And just to point out, all railway intersections have markings so there should be no ambulances “racing through the streets.” (And if you find a railway intersection that’s not marked, then it’s nice to see how our tax money is spent).
I live far away from the train tracks but I still hear the whistle loud and clear and I can only imagine how loud it is for people living next to the tracks.
