The City of St. Albert council finds that being a municipal politician has become so dangerous that they have taken out WCB coverage? Will all other municipalities and other levels of government follow this lead from one of the highest taxed cities?

To me, this seems like a complete waste of the taxpayers’ money. What do you think? As far as I know, councillors will always get paid and they have intensive other insurance coverage, do they really need WCB coverage?

In my mind, they will never need to use it, but have purchased it – goes to show their complete disregard for the taxpayers! It is all about their sense of entitlement! This is just outrageous – are council members really likely to get hurt doing what they do? Do they need this coverage? Have they been told that the city will not pay them if they are injured?

Here is what the City of St. Albert website says about St. Albert: St. Albert is proud of its community and all that it has to offer. With its picturesque landscape, outstanding parks and trails, state-of-the-art recreational facilities, robust arts and culture community and countless amenities, this city has it all!

But has St. Albert become so dangerous a place to work so that local politicians need to get WCB coverage?
