I sympathize with Anna Wamsay if trains bother her. I grew up in northern Alberta and missed the sound of trains when I moved up north. It is unfortunate that she finds them aggravating, however it’s much like airports and airplanes – you shouldn’t move in next to them if they concern you.

Trains have been around for more than 100 years and the tracks through St. Albert have been there for at least half of that time. Does it really make sense to ban them because someone moved to town who thinks trains should sneak through level crossings without warning motorists?

My suggestion is to move farther from the crossing and get a good night’s sleep because your chances of getting those tracks moved are slim to none.
