Morinville council gave the town’s fire department the green light this week to partner with St. Albert in creating a joint firefighter training centre.

The training centre will allow the two departments to train for small-fire scenarios closer to home instead of relying on training sites in Bon Accord, Edmonton and Nisku.

A land use bylaw amendment for the site of the facility, located on the water reservoir site on East Boundary Road, is being presented to Morinville council on Sept. 11.
