Not all Akinsdale residents are warming to the Aurora Place development [‘Akinsdale warms up to Habitat’, Gazette, June 30].

I certainly will not forget how the zoning of the property was deftly altered to facilitate this little increase to the tax base at the expense of Aurora Place’s immediate neighbours. The fact that the development does not resemble any of the existing homes all around it has as well forever altered my prior conception of Habitat for Humanity seamlessly integrating families into neighbourhoods.

At least I don't have a 16-bay car wash across the street from me like those poor folks down the block on Akins Drive.

Is it too much to ask that council consider the esthetic ramifications of their decisions? I guess so.

Beware, St. Albertans, your neighbourhood could be rezoned too.
