Blue Curve Gallery: Artist Julie Drew's exhibit 'Living Water' brings together the biblical imagery of living water as a way to look at the environmental impact of the water crisis on our world today. For Julie painting and drawing is part of her conversation with God. It is a way she can reflect on his beauty, the beauty of his creation and speak of that beauty and glorify him. Most of her subjects are found in nature and range from large landscapes to the small detail of a flower. Art on the Inside Gallery: Artist Ann Marie Resta's photography exhibit 'Take a Second Look at your Plate' challenges the viewer to discover something new in everyday subjects. Her fascination with cameras and the commitment and rituals of photographers lead her to start photographing different textures, colours, and contrasts of different produce which she photographed once a week for 52 weeks at different locations such as farmers' markets. This project led her to significant lifestyle changes in the way she eats and now she gives monthly to the food bank. She realized that making little changes and seeing things differently can lead to bigger changes. She hopes her photographs inspire her viewers to examine things differently too. The Mezzanine Gallery: Artist David Baine's photography exhibit 'Naturally Exceptional' provides his viewers with extraordinarily beautiful images of ordinary scenes. The images are a collection of the natural environment we commonly share. They vary from vast panoramas to micro images. Each image is designed to capture and hold the viewer's attention with the enchanting beauty of the world that surrounds us. |
