GENERAL
We support QuarkXPress 6.5, InDesign CS 2, PageMaker 7.0, Photoshop CS 2, Illustrator CS 2, MultiAd Creator 7.0 and Corel Draw 10.0 on a Macintosh platform. Freehand files must be saved as eps files. We are able to accept files from the Windows platform provided they are saved in a compatible format. To avoid font substitution on Windows files, all fonts must be converted to outline or provide your files as pdf with fonts embedded (see below).

PHOTOS/ARTWORK
All colour photos must be in CMYK mode. All black and white photos must be grayscale. All files must be provided as tiff or eps (jpg or gif formats are not acceptable). Please make sure that your images have the appropriate resolution (photos 300 dpi, line art 600 dpi). Excess resolution will result in larger files that print slower and will not produce better reproduction. Images with clipping paths must have a flatness setting of 3.

FONTS
Include both screen and printer fonts for Type 1 fonts or convert your fonts to outlines whenever possible. Type 1 Postscript fonts are preferred. We recommend using good quality fonts from a well known font foundry such as Adobe Systems, Bitstream, Letraset and Monotype.

PDF - (portable document format)
We accept PDF files.
PDF files should be created using an Acrobat Distiller to print properly. We can provide you with a distiller job option file that is customized for our equipment and printing process. Please ensure that all fonts are embedded in your document. All colour must be edited to the appropriate spot or process colour in the original layout program. We are not able to edit your PDF files

We are able to accept the following:

- CD-R, CD-RW, DVD's

- Jump Drive, USB and Firewire drives

- Compact Flash Cards (any size)

- SmartMedia xD-Picture Cards

- MMC SD, MiniSD RS-MMC Cards

- Memory Sticks

E-MAIL
E-mail is a viable method to send your files, providing that they are compressed attachments. We do not have a file size limit on our E-mail server, however your Internet Service Provider may have restrictions on the size of files you may send. Please check with your ISP regarding e-mail and file size concerns. Files must be saved in a compatible format (please refer to file requirements above).

Remember to supply your file as a self-extracting archive (.sea), Stuffit file (.sit) or zipped file (.zip). Please include in your e-mail the date your ad is running, the name of your Gazette sales rep, and a contact name and phone number. Please provide a faxed copy of your ad for visual reference to: 780-460-8220.

FTP UPLOADS
We have an FTP site available for both upload and download of advertising material. You must have Fetch for Macintosh or an FTP client for Windows to access this site using the user I.D and password below. Please remember to supply your file as a self-extracting archive (.sea), Stuffit compressed file (.sit) or zip compression file (.zip).
