Founded in 1961, in the centennial year of Albertas oldest permanent settlement, The Gazette has chronicled the lives of residents and events for St. Albert and the Sturgeon area for 40 years. From our beginnings as an eight-page 81/2" x 11" community newsletter to todays twice-weekly, full-color tabloid, we have focused on providing our readers award-winning journalism in every issue. Our advertising, creative and news teams have collected more than 200 industry honours in the past 20 years. The Canadian Community Newspapers' Association has named us the best newspaper in the country in 2000, 2001 and 2005.
The City of St. Albert is one of Albertas fastest growing communities. It has the highest education levels and the second-highest household income in the province. Located in the beautiful Sturgeon River valley just outside Edmontons northern boundary, the city is now approaching 57,000 residents. And to the north another 21,000 residents live in the towns villages, acreages and farms of Sturgeon County. |
